Pete Cudmore, PhD

Peter Cudmore, PhD is the CTO and a founder of Pneumatica Bio. Pete’s work is motivated by a core belief that people are most effective when complex systems are automated in ways that amplify human insight rather than replace it. At Pneumatica Bio, this philosophy drives the development of software and robotic platforms that empower analysts and biologists to dramatically increase their effectiveness in experimentation, interpretation, and decision-making.

Pete holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics, specialising in complex systems, and has academic and industrial experience in multi-domain modelling, simulation, and optimisation across systems biology, multi-agent robotics, and aerospace engineering. His career has centred on building predictive frameworks that connect theory, computation, and experiment in high-dimensional, real-world systems.

He is also an experienced software developer and technical leader, with projects spanning autonomous drone swarms, unmanned submarines, and distributed sensor networks. His expertise ranges from deeply embedded and real-time systems to scalable, distributed software platforms.

A hands-on tinkerer and maker, Pete brings experience in electronics, mechatronic design, and rapid prototyping. His impressive skillset grounds Pneumatica Bio’s technology in practical, end-to-end systems that work in the real world, and provide a foundation on which the predictive future will be built.
